Elizabeth Nolan-Greven has had a diverse professional life. She is currently the President and Marketing Director for EcoSource, Inc. Her professional background has been in education and she spent about ten years teaching in both the university and community college settings in her field of expertise, English as a Second Language and Writing. She was involved in classroom teaching, curriculum development, testing, and professional development.
Although Elizabeth taught for many years she also spent 15 years working at home while raising her children. She and her husband Michael had a small construction company, Bauwerk, Ltd. from 1989-1996. She was charged with accounting, office management, and payroll. This company was based out of Indianapolis originally, but was moved to Bartholomew County when the Grevens moved there in 1992. An avid organic gardener and active environmentalist, she has also been closely involved in the Green Sanctuary project at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Columbus, Indiana. The Green Sanctuary committee works to educate the congregation on renewable and eco-friendly changes that they can make to reduce their carbon footprint and operating costs.
In 2006 Elizabeth focused on creating the Greven’s new company, EcoSource Inc. This company is promoting Green Construction and Solar Power technologies in order to help individuals, businesses, churches, and communities find the most cost effective way to build energy efficient buildings. The company has had several successful solar installations and a LEED GOLD certified residence in Indianapolis. They are expanding their exposure with Elizabeth‘s outreach work and research. She is continually updating her knowledge of technologies and materials in order to provide building owners the most accurate information available. Elizabeth is currently studying to complete her LEED AP exam.
