Marion County Solar Opportunities
2011 is the Year for Solar. Federal incentives combined with IP&L offering 10 year contracts to buy solar power at 24 cents a Kw/h make this a time to act!
For solar projects which begin construction in Marion County in 2011:
- Federal Grants will pay 30% of the cost of the entire system within 60 days; this expires 12/31/2011
- A 2011 year only bonus tax depreciation will allow the entire system to be depreciated and written off as a tax expense in the first year, giving tax savings of 35% of the cost of the installation; this incentive is reduce by 50% 12/31/2011, and is gone completely 12/31/2012.
- IP&L is offering 24 cents a Kw/h for Solar Power with contracts of 10 years
- Solar panels are cheaper and more efficient than ever before
- The Internal Rate of Return on a self-owned project is over 20% for 20 years. Amazing investment for any company!
